Who we are
Florida Breweries, Wineries & Distilleries is run by Gude Ventures, a small family-run outfit — it's really just us. If you ever have a question about your privacy or anything else on the site, email gudeadventures@gmail.com and a real person will answer.
What we collect when you're just browsing
If you're not signed in, we don't track you. Our servers keep the ordinary logs any web server keeps — the page you visited, roughly when, and technical details like your browser and IP address — mostly so we can catch errors and keep the site running. We don't run analytics or advertising cookies today, and we never sell your data. One narrow exception to “nothing shared”: our sign-in and venue-claim forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to block spam bots, and that check sends your IP address to Cloudflare — nothing more, and only on those two forms.
What your account stores
If you create an account, we store your email address, the display name you choose, your “been there” and favorites lists, and any venue claims you submit. That's it — no payment info, no tracking pixels. Signing in sets a session cookie so the site remembers you're logged in; that's the only cookie we use. Your email address is never shown to anyone else on the site — only your display name is public, and only where the account features (like a venue claim) show it.
How signing in works
We use magic links, not passwords. Enter your email, we send you a one-time sign-in link, and clicking it logs you in. We never see or store a password, because there isn't one — nothing of yours to leak, and nothing you have to worry about reusing from another site.
Who can see what
Your “been there” and favorites lists are private — only you can see them. One aggregate exception: if you've chosen a display name, that name and your total visit count may appear on the home page's Top Explorers leaderboard — never which venues you visited. Don't want to appear? Email us and we'll leave you off. If you claim a venue as its owner, the venue's admins (that's us) can see your claim details so we can review it; other visitors still just see the regular venue listing. The only two people with admin access to the site are the two of us at Gude Ventures.
Deleting your account
Email gudeadventures@gmail.com and we'll delete your account — email, display name, lists, and claims — within 14 days. We're building a self-serve “delete my account” option alongside the upcoming reviews feature; until then, an email gets it done just as reliably.

Changes to this policy
If anything here changes, we'll update this page and move the effective date at the top. This page covers the privacy side of things; the rules of the road live in our Terms of Use.
